METHOD FOR EVALUATING EFFECTIVENESS OF COCHLEAR IMPLANTATION Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61F11/04 A61B5/00 A61N1/05

Abstract RU 2766045 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to audiology-otorhinolaryngology, and can be used for prediction and evaluation of cochlear implantation (CI) effectiveness. Interelectrode resistance of the cochlear implant is measured and electrically evoked action potentials of the auditory nerve (EEAPAN) are recorded by the method of telemetry of the neural response during implantation, one month after the operation at the moment of the speech processor connection, three and six months after the speech processor connection. Electrically evoked long-latency auditory potentials (EELLAP) are recorded twelve months after the cochlear implantation. If at normal values of interelectrode resistance EEAPAN and EELLAP are not recorded, then an unfavorable assessment of the effectiveness of the performed cochlear implantation is given, or EEAPAN is recorded, but EELLAP is not recorded, then the effectiveness of the cochlear implantation is questionable, or EEAPAN is recorded, as well as EELLAP, then the effectiveness of the cochlear implantation is good.

EFFECT: method enables increasing the probability of the reliable prediction of the effectiveness of the CI due to the possibility of combined processing of information from the peripheral and central parts of the auditory system.
