SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agriculture and can be used for selecting plant forms resistant to atmospheric pollution. The method includes artificial modelling of the stress impact of sulphur dioxide in a sealed chamber and exposure of the leaves of the test samples of woody plants for 10 minutes. The control variant is similar leaves of the tested samples of woody plants not exposed to gas. The concentration of sulphur dioxide is 150 mg/m3. The parameters of the effective quantum output of photosystem II are recorded, the sum of the euclidean distances between the values of the control and test variants of the effective quantum output of photosystem II, taken in pairs, forming the light curves of photosynthesis saturation, is calculated. The smaller the value of the sum of the euclidean distances between the control and test graphs, the higher the gas resistance of the sample.

EFFECT: method provides an increase in the efficiency.
