FIELD: railway transport.
SUBSTANCE: method for controlling a braking system of a railway vehicle is proposed, containing a set of means (2) of influence on deceleration, including following stages: calculating the deceleration difference between the target deceleration and the expected effective deceleration; selecting means (2) of influence depending on the deceleration difference and one of following decisive factors: a) the problem factor, b) factors of advantages and disadvantages inherent in each means of influence on deceleration, c) factors of reaction at the place of application, indicating environmental conditions around the railway vehicle, and d) the factor of the state of the system; controlling the selected means of influence on deceleration, in accordance with the deceleration difference and the above-mentioned decisive factor.
EFFECT: braking optimization is achieved.
