SUBSTANCE: first invention of the group relates to a method of producing a modified polytetrafluoroethylene for a hip joint endoprosthesis, according to which the workpiece from the polymer material is placed in a thermoradiation chamber with an inert gas, heated to a temperature higher than the melting point of the crystalline phase at a rate of not more than 60 °C/hour and thermostating is carried out at temperature higher than crystalline phase melting point, then the workpiece from the polymer material is treated with high-energy ionizing radiation to an absorbed dose of 0.5–500 kGy, wherein during the irradiation the temperature is lowered to no more than 0.5 °C/10 kGy and the workpiece is cooled to room temperature at a rate of not more than 60 °C/hour, and then subjected to heat treatment, wherein in the thermo-radiation chamber the workpieces from the polymer material are heated to a temperature higher than the melting point of the crystalline phase from 327 °C and not more than 380 °C. Also, the group of inventions relates to a head, an insert-head friction pair and an acetabular component of the hip joint endoprosthesis, made of said modified polytetrafluoroethylene.

EFFECT: group of inventions provides a reduction in the friction coefficient during sliding friction of elements, stabilization of the structure of the surface layer of parts, reduced wear and increased service life of the hip joint endoprosthesis.
