FIELD: radiation-chemical technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radiation-chemical technologies of producing polymer materials with improved operational characteristics, in particular, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), widely used in various engineering fields: automobile, aircraft, medical, space, chemical industry, etc. Invention represents a method for thermo-radiating treatment of polytetrafluoroethylene articles, which comprises irradiating workpieces by gamma-quanta at high temperature in the melt in an inert medium. Temperature of workpieces is maintained lower than polytetrafluoroethylene melting temperature, but higher than polytetrafluoroethylene crystallization temperature. Irradiating workpieces is carried out using a pulsed linear accelerator, operating in gamma-mode and a converter to an absorbed dose of 50-350 kGy, during the irradiating workpieces temperature is reduced to 0.8-1 deg/10 kGy, and irradiating speed is more than 10 Gy/s.
EFFECT: invention ensures reducing time of irradiating a product and increasing coefficient of using useful volume of ionization irradiating.
