FIELD: tobacco industry.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to options of implementing a component for an aerosol generating system, an aerosol generating system and a cartridge for such a system. The component for the aerosol generating system contains a storage section designed for storing aerosol forming substrate, and a manually controlled deactivation means designed for irrevocably bringing the component in a non-working state. Aerosol forming substrate is liquid aerosol forming substrate, and the storage section is a liquid storage section made with the possibility of holding liquid aerosol generating substrate. The deactivation means is made with the possibility of irrevocably bringing the storage section in the non-working state, wherein the deactivation means contains a secondary storage section, while the secondary storage section is essentially isolated from the liquid storage section. The deactivation means is made with the possibility of providing liquid communication between the liquid storage section and the secondary storage section, when controlled with the deactivation means. The deactivation means contains absorbing material placed in the secondary storage section, wherein absorbing material is placed so that to absorb or adsorb liquid aerosol forming substrate held in the liquid storage section, when controlled with the deactivation means.

EFFECT: possibility is provided for a user to choose, when the component should be deactivated on a constant base without the need to control the aerosol generating device.
