FIELD: catalyst production.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to the field of catalysts for selective catalytic reduction. In particular, inventions relate to a catalyst for selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides and a method for selective reduction of nitrogen oxides in the presence of the specified catalyst. The catalyst contains 8-ring molecular sieve with small pores having CHA crystal structure, where 8-ring molecular sieve with small pores is promoted by more than 5 wt.% of iron per Fe2O3 per the total weight of the fired molecular sieve, without volatile compounds, and the molecular sieve has a ratio of atomic sodium to aluminum, which is less than 0.7. The catalyst is effective to catalyze the selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides in the presence of a reducing agent at temperatures in the range between 200°C and 600°C.

EFFECT: better conversion of NOx in a lower temperature range of 200-350°C, as well as in a higher temperature range of 350-600°C.
