SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanisms for locking the cover of the loading hatch in freight cars. The mechanism for locking the loading hatch cover (1) contains a hook (3) rigidly fixed to the roof (2) of the car, a handle and a limiter containing two plates, rigidly fixed to the loading hatch cover and pivotally connected to the handle, forming a single lock structure (4). The handle contains two rings, one of which is a handle, and the second is a retainer. In the closed position, the hook, handle and limiter are connected by a latch, and the handle is located between the limiter plates.

EFFECT: invention simplifies the design of the car loading hatch cover locking mechanism, makes it more convenient in operation and has a high degree of reliability.
