FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: capacitive liquid level sensor comprises a main part of the sensor in the form of a tab with a freely hanging portion extending to a distal tip, a set of spaced apart capacitive electrodes extending along the reed towards the distal tip. When the distal tip of the tab is immersed in the liquid mass, the capacitance between the electrodes varies depending on the depth of the liquid mass. Width of the tab increases towards the distal tip, thereby determining the widest part of the free hanging portion of the tab for a portion of the lower half of the free hanging portion of the tab. Electrodes are terminated before reaching the widest part of the free hanging section of the tab. Also disclosed is a liquid sensor assembly.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of measurement.
