FIELD: data processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to video encoding, particularly to methods of dividing an image of video data. Disclosed device for encoding video signals can be configured to perform encoding of video signals, including: receiving a video block including values of samples of a first component of video data and a second component of video data; dividing sample values for the first component of video data and the second component of video data in accordance with the splitting structure of the first binary quadtree (QTBT); and additional division of samples in accordance with the second binary quadtree for values of samples of the first component of video data included in nodes of the first binary quadtree, associated with internal type of prediction.
EFFECT: providing an efficient method of dividing video data for encoding video signals.
