FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, particularly to production of metal in oxygen converter. Liquid cast iron is poured, slag-forming materials are fed into the converter, the metal is blown with oxygen through the tuyere, the metal is drained from the converter into the steel teeming ladle, note here that coefficient influencing mass transfer is set in range of 0.9–2.0 s/mm and is selected proceeding from the condition of metal draining time to inner initial diameter of the tap hole.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase mass transfer and efficiency of oxygen converter due to rational values of internal diameter of tap hole.
