FIELD: environmental protection.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to environmental protection, particularly to processing of liquid radioactive waste (LRW) by fixation in a stable solid medium. Proposed method consists in impregnating porous forming material arranged in container by evacuation. Liquid radioactive wastes and molten hardener are fed into the mixing vessel and mixed to obtain a liquid compound. Container with forming material is heated to temperature of liquid compound. Pressure in mixing vessel is increased to atmospheric pressure and connected to container for impregnation of forming material. After impregnation of forming material with liquid compound, container is disconnected from mixing vessel and cooled.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to transfer LRW into solid state, which guarantees absence of free liquid in container during long-term storage.
