FIELD: environmental protection; radioactive contamination.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to environmental protection from radioactive contamination, namely to the disposal of organic liquid radioactive waste (LRW). A method for immobilizing organic liquid radioactive waste, including tritium-containing waste, consists of incorporating it into a form-forming porous matrix. An open-porous glassy carbon material is used as a forming matrix. Liquid radioactive waste is combined with a thermoplastic hardener and the resulting thermoplastic compound is introduced into an open-porous glassy carbon material, with the volume of the thermoplastic compound in the resulting material being at least 30%.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain a final material in which there is no liquid fraction, while the thermal stability of the resulting material is up to 110°C, and the compressive strength of the resulting material is not lower than 4.9 MPa.
