FIELD: cutting.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to thread milling tool (10), comprising holder (12) made of hard alloy, extending along central axis (14) and comprising first slot-like seat (18a) for cutting plate, having two opposite transverse thrust surfaces (24, 28) and main thrust surface (32) located between two transverse thrust surfaces (24, 28) and passing across to them, wherein said thrust surface (32) forms base of first slot-like seat (18a) for cutting insert. Tool (10) also comprises first cutting plate (20a) made of thick-film CVD diamond (diamond obtained by chemical vapour deposition), which is fixed in first seat (18a) by means of strong bonding by means of bonding (for example, by soldering), wherein first cutting plate (20a) comprises main body (21), having two opposite transverse surfaces (22, 26), resting against two transverse thrust surfaces (24, 28) of first seat (18a) or connected to them by means of strong attachment by means of communication, and having lower side (30) located between two transverse surfaces (22, 26) and passing across them, wherein said lower surface (30) rests against the main thrust surface (32) of first seat (18a) or is connected to it by a strong binding by establishing connection. First cutting plate (20a) contains at least one cutting tooth (23) protruding outside from main body (21) beyond first seat (18a), and two main cutting edges (36, 38) for making two opposite lateral sides of the thread.

EFFECT: higher hardness of cutting tool.
