FIELD: cutting.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the processing of materials by cutting and can be used for chamfering workpieces made of sintered hard alloys or ceramics. The tool comprises a holder (12) made of a hard alloy, containing two or more slot-shaped sockets (18a) for placing cutting inserts. Each socket has two opposite transverse thrust surfaces (24, 28) and a main thrust surface (32) forming the base of a slot-shaped socket (18a). Each cutting insert (20a) is made of a thick-film CVD diamond and is secured in the corresponding slot-shaped socket (18a) by soldering or welding and comprises two opposite transverse surfaces (22, 26) abutting against two transverse thrust surfaces (24, 28) of said socket. The lower surface (30) abuts against the main thrust surface (32) of the socket (18a) or is connected thereto by soldering or welding. Each cutting insert (20a) protrudes from the corresponding socket (18a) for the cutting insert in the axial and transverse directions. The first main cutting edge (36) is located at a first acute angle (γ) to the central axis (14) of the holder (12).
EFFECT: processing of parts made of hard-to-process materials is ensured, durability of the tool is increased.
