FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical instrumentation and relates to a light-transmitting optical component. Component comprises an electroactive material layer structure comprising an optically active layer which performs an optical function, electrode assembly for controlling deformation of the structure of the electroactive material layer and a drive assembly for controlling excitation signals applied to the electrode assembly. Drive unit is configured to cause different relative changes in thickness in different areas of the structure of the layer of electroactive material, providing non-uniform change of optical function between these different areas. Several different areas of the electroactive material layer structure have different dielectric constant and/or stiffness.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of non-uniform change of optical function between different areas.
