The device (10) for detecting and measuring leakage current and data transmission is configured to measure (430) the leakage current of the insulator during the first and second measurement stages and compare (440) the two current values obtained during the measurement stages. The actions of the measuring circuit are suspended (470) for a certain period of sleep mode, if the second current value is less than or equal to the first, followed by a restart of the measuring circuit after a certain period of sleep mode.
EFFECT: ensuring high-quality control of the leakage current while reducing the frequency of maintenance of the insulator.
