FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method of controlling the composite workpiece and the method of monitoring the working element for laying the composite material include: directing the electromagnetic radiation to the monitored surface, receiving a response signal reflected from each portion of the surface, dividing the received signal into multiple wavelengths, identifying the pollutants invisible to the naked eye and generating an image of surfaces with graphic indicators indicating the presence of contaminants. The device for monitoring composite structures comprises a spectral sensor system configured to separate the signal reflected from the surface into a plurality of wavelengths, and also to generate data based on mentioned plurality of wavelengths. The device also includes an analyzer configured to control the sensor system and form an image of the workpiece surface with a plurality of graphic indicators indicative of the presence of contaminants.
