FIELD: wireless communication systems.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication systems, such as cellular networks, and in particular to methods, user equipment, and network nodes for handling link failure in dual and/or multi-connected network environments. The method performed by the user equipment (UE) includes a step in which the UE detects a failure related to the connection between the UE and the main cell group (MCG). The UE transmits, to the master node via a secondary cell group (SCG), the first message related to the detected failure. The UE receives, from the master node via the SCG, a second message instructing the UE to perform a connection reconfiguration. The second message contains a radio resource control (RRC) reconfiguration message. The master node receives, from the UE via the SCG, a first message including information related to the detected connection failure between the UE and the MCG. The master node decides, based on the first message and the user equipment context, to perform a connection reconfiguration. The master node sends, to the UE via the SCG, a second message indicating to perform a connection reconfiguration.
EFFECT: improving network communication efficiency and faster link recovery by using an RRC message to restore a connection after a failure.
