SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hair cutting devices. Hair cutting device comprises a drive unit with a drive, a cutting unit, an actuator and a control element with the possibility of its movement by the user. Cutting unit includes a pull-out mechanism configured to change the cutting length of the cutting unit within the range of cutting lengths. Actuator jointly operates with the extension mechanism to change the cutting length of the cutting unit within the range of cutting lengths. Actuator moves between the first and second positions. Control element is moved in the range of length control positions between the first and second control positions and the off position. Actuator is in the first position of the actuator when the drive is stopped. Cutting unit is displaced to return the driven element to the first position of the driven element, corresponding to engagement with actuator in first position of actuator.

EFFECT: improved quality of hair cutting.
