FIELD: timber industry.
SUBSTANCE: working element comprises a body, a cutting tool and a power unit. A cutting tool made of sections is mounted on the U-shaped body. Each of the sections contains sidewalls. Sidewalls are made in the form of rings with stops rigidly fixed between them, on which flat knives are installed by means of bolt connections. Sections are bolted together. Half-couplings are attached to extreme sections, by means of which through bearing assemblies the shafts of the cutting tool are connected to the power unit.
EFFECT: simplified manufacturing and reduced metal consumption of the structure.
