SUBSTANCE: invention relates to liquid crystal cells. Method of assembling liquid crystal cells, comprising steps of: connecting two liquid crystal half-cells to each other, wherein at least one of the two half-cells is provided with a substrate film and an array of separation structures formed at the production site on the substrate film, at that, at the connection step, two half-cells and prefabricated separating elements arranged on at least one of the two half-cells in at least a zone are pressed to each other, which is common for them and the matrix of separating structures, wherein the separating elements provide primary adjustment of the size of the gap between the two half-cells, and the separating structures operate to counteract compression of the separating elements, wherein the height of the separating elements before said pressing is not more than 95 % of the height of the separating structures before said pressing.
EFFECT: enabling adjustment of the gap between cells.
