FIELD: technological processes; electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of processing spent lithium-ion current sources. Method involves collection and sorting of current sources, their discharge, shredding and grinding, sieving, leaching, extraction of lithium, electrochemical extraction of metals of the anode of the current source. At the stage of leaching, manganese, nickel, cobalt and lithium are simultaneously transferred into solution. To this end, the leaching step is carried out using a solution of sulfuric acid with concentration of 1.5 to 2 M and hydrogen peroxide with concentration of 6 to 15 wt% with continuous mixing using ratio of solid and liquid phases of 1:10.
EFFECT: considerable acceleration of processing of spent lithium-ion sources of current, reduction of explosion hazard and improvement of fire safety, as well as increased extraction of valuable metal raw material.
