FIELD: analytical instrumentation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of analytical instrumentation and is designed to measure the volume fraction of moisture in gases and can be used in hygrometers. The hygrometer consists of a coulometric cell, a DC source, a microammeter, an additional DC source, a gas flow stabilizer, a tuning resistor, while a circuit of a series-connected additional DC source and a tuning resistor is introduced into the hygrometer’s electrical circuit, it is connected in parallel to the microammeter in reverse polarity, and the measurement of the volume fraction of moisture is determined by the formula: , where BH2O is the volume fraction of moisture in the analyzed gas; EH2O is the electrochemical equivalent of water; Q is the flow rate of the analyzed gas through the coulometric cell; I0 is the electrolysis current of the coulometric cell; ICOMP is the compensation current δc.c. of the coulometric cell.

EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of measuring the volume fraction of moisture with the hygrometer.
