FIELD: cable equipment.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to cables in which at least one layer is obtained from a cross-linkable polyolefin composition. Disclosed is a cable which is a low or medium voltage cable containing at least one layer obtained from a cross-linkable polyolefin composition, which contains (a) from 50 to 99 wt.%, based on the total polyolefin composition, of one or more ethylene copolymers containing monomer links with polar groups and monomer links with hydrolysable silane groups, where monomer links with polar groups are present in amount of 1 to 25 mol.% based on the total polyolefin composition, and (b) from 1 to 50 wt.%, based on the total polyolefin composition, of a copolymer of ethylene and C3-C8 alpha-olefin comonomer, having density from 850 to 970 kg/m3 and MFR2.16 (melt flow rate at load of 2.16 kg) from 0.1 to 50 g/10 min, determined in accordance with ISO 1133 at temperature of 190 °C and load of 2.16 kg. Also disclosed is use of said cross-linkable polyolefin composition for increasing tensile strength and/or flexibility of cable.
EFFECT: proposed cable has improved mechanical properties, such as breaking strength and flexural modulus.
