METHOD FOR COMPLEX REHABILITATION OF PATIENTS WITH CEREBRAL PALSY WITH LOW SELF-ESTEEM OF EMOTIONAL STATE Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61H1/00

Abstract RU 2770986 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely to restorative medicine, medical rehabilitation, balneology and physiotherapy, and can be used for the rehabilitation of motor and psychoemotional disorders in patients with cerebral palsy. The assessment of the psychoemotional status of a patient with cerebral palsy is carried out using the method for self-assessment of emotional states by A. Wessman and D. Ricks. If a low self-esteem of the emotional state is detected, the value of the indicator is from 4 to 14 points: an additional dolphin therapy course is prescribed, consisting of a preparatory part, including 4 classes, and the main part, including 6 classes. Each lesson of the preparatory part is held on the platform, introducing the child to the dolphin in a playful way, performing exercises on the platform to relax muscles, to resist, to improve balance and motor coordination. Each lesson of the main part is carried out in water, and the first stage of the main part of the lesson includes getting the patient used to water for five minutes. At the same time, the coach holds the patient near the handrail, holding him in the thoracic and lumbar spine, and the patient performs movements in the joints of the limbs. Next, the patient performs stroking and hugging the dolphin, grabbing and holding the dolphin’s fins with his hands, riding the dolphin together with the coach, holding the dorsal fin with his hands and the tail section with his feet. The second stage of the main part of the lesson includes resting in the water for five minutes, stabilizing breathing, while the patient is held by the handrails and is in an upright position, performing movements in the limbs of the patient by the coach aimed at relaxation, leaving the patient out of the water, removing the wetsuit from the patient and wiping the patient. For patients with spastic hemiparesis, the duration of the preparatory part is 15 minutes, and the duration of the main part is 30 minutes. For patients with spastic tetraparesis, the duration of the preparatory part is 25 minutes, and the duration of the main part is 40 minutes. At the same time, it is possible to conduct classes with a dolphin in an indoor pool with sea water at a temperature of 25-28 degrees.

EFFECT: method provides normalization of the psychoemotional status of a patient with cerebral palsy, restoration of mobility in the joints, elimination of contractures, formation of movement and self-service skills due to complex therapy.
