SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of digital signal processing, namely to the means of computer image recognition. A method for detecting the logo of a TV channel in a television broadcast, in which, based on image analysis, an image of a logo template is created and stored in memory and its search is carried out in a given search area of the received image, by means of a step-by-step comparison of the template and part of the frame in the search area, preliminary processing of the received image and the template image is carried out, for which the chroma is reduced to grayscale, the boundaries of objects are highlighted, the contrast of monochrome sections is reduced, and then, in a given search area, the number of points specified from the total number of pixels is selected, for the specified selected points of the resulting image and the corresponding points of the template image, the percentage of coincidence for each grayscale is calculated, in the event that the normalized percentage of similar points in the entire search area is greater than the specified value, a conclusion is made about the possible presence of the resulting image of the TV channel logo in the frame.

EFFECT: increase in the reliability and fidelity of detecting the logo of the TV channel in the broadcast.
