FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biochemistry and can be used in medicine and veterinary medicine. Developed is a new RFR-ChBac3.4(1-14)-NH2 antimicrobial peptide engineered by modifying (introducing deletions and inserts) the amino acid sequence of natural ChBac3.4 bactenecin.
EFFECT: synthetic RFR-ChBac3.4(1-14)-NH2 peptide has a high antimicrobial activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including multidrug-resistant bacteria, inhibits the growth of pathogenic bacteria synergistically with a number of antibiotics, and is also capable of preventing the formation of biofilms from pathogenic bacteria.
