APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING AN ANALOGUE ELECTRICAL SIGNAL OVER FOCL Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC H04B10/25

Abstract RU 2771499 C1

FIELD: communication.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to systems for transmitting analogue signals of the micro- and nanosecond time range over fibre-optic communication lines (FOCLs) using external modulation. Apparatus for transmitting an analogue electrical signal over a FOCL comprises a laser module, a first directional coupler, a second directional coupler, an electro-optical intensity modulator according to the Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZM) configuration, an MZM working point controller, a source of a high frequency information electrical signal, an acoustic-optical modulator, a high frequency signal generator for the acoustic-optical modulator, an optical emission receiver, and a digitising apparatus. The apparatus ensures continuous adjustment and monitoring of the position of the working point of the MZM modulator using a working point controller and in the case of a constant level of optical emission from the laser module used to transmit the information signal at the optical input of the MZM. By supplying an optical signal from the optical output of the MZM to the optical input of an acoustic-optical modulator, and a high frequency signal from a generator to the electrical input thereof, time of illumination of the optical emission receiver by optical emission of the laser module is limited.

EFFECT: provided possibility of limiting the time of illumination of the optical emission receiver.
