SUBSTANCE: invention relates to portion packaging for preparing a beverage, in particular, coffee, containing a container made of a filtering material wherein the extracted material is placed, and a supporting element at least partially surrounding the container, wherein the container is closed in the initial position and is configured to be opened by rotating at least one part of the edge of the filtering material, and to a method for preparing a beverage using the portion packaging. The portion packaging (1) comprises a container (2) made of a filtering material wherein the extracted material is located, and a supporting element (3, 3') at least partially surrounding the container (2), wherein the container (2) is closed in the initial position and is configured to be opened by rotating at least one part of the edge of the filtering material, wherein in the initial position, the container (2) is held in the closed position by means of a closing tool (10, 10') configured to dissolve due to being moistened with water for the process of preparation.

EFFECT: possibility of expanding the volume of the extracted material without compressing by the closed shell, thereby ensuring easy preparation of a high quality beverage.
