SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the tobacco industry, namely to an article and a method for manufacturing an aerosol-generating article. The aerosol-generating article comprises an aerosol-cooling element. The aerosol-cooling element comprises an extruded part. The extruded part has a length. The extruded part comprises an outer surface forming a cross-sectional perimeter perpendicular to the length of the extruded part. The extruded part comprises an inner surface forming one or more passages along the length of the extruded part. The inner surface or the outer surface or both the inner surface and the outer surface comprise surface irregularities. Also disclosed are a method for manufacturing the aerosol-cooling element and a method for manufacturing the aerosol-generating article.

EFFECT: increase in the heat transfer due to the increase in the surface area of the aerosol-cooling element.
