Each thread (30) has an equivalent diameter of at least 0.1 mm and less than 0.5 mm. A plurality of threads (30) are assembled in such a way that they run in the longitudinal direction. The aerosol generating substrate (12) contains a wrapper (32) surrounding a plurality of threads (30).
