FIELD: image data processing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for image processing, more specifically, to methods for filtering impulse noises in an image. The technical result is achieved by detecting distorted elements and performing subsequent median filtering of the distorted elements, iteratively checking all pixels of the image until the image contains no distorted pixels, wherein the non-distorted pixels are transferred to the image of the next iteration, and an array of available adjacent non-distorted pixels is formed for the distorted pixels, followed by correcting the brightness value of the distorted pixel based on the median brightness value of an array of adjacent non-distorted pixels.

EFFECT: increase in the quality of image processing.
