FIELD: chemical processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an electrochemical method for producing a finely dispersed graphite powder, consisting in submerging coaxially arranged electrodes - a graphite anode and a stainless steel cathode - in a working solution of a diaphragm electrolyser and directing electric current thereto. The method is characterised by subjecting the electrodes to a constant electric current with an electric field intensity of 0.05÷0.15 kV/m, and using 10÷35% aqueous solutions of soluble salts as a working solution, followed by removing the anode from the electrolyser to collect and dry graphite particles.
EFFECT: possibility of electrochemically producing a highly homogeneous finely dispersed graphite powder without violations in the crystal structure and with a lower specific energy consumption.
