SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for manufacturing a smoking article. A method is proposed for manufacturing a smoking article that has a functional segment, a tobacco rod, a cooling segment and a filter segment, including (A) the preparation of segment A, which contains a double-length functional segment having a length that is twice the length of the functional segment, and tobacco rods at any ends of the double-length functional segment; (C) preparing a pair of cooling segments and bringing the cooling segments into contact with either end of segment A to prepare segment C; (D) cutting and splitting segment C in the central part longitudinally to prepare a pair of segments D, and flipping segments D, thereby placing segments D through the gap to align the longitudinal axes of segments D and ensure that the cooling segments are facing each other; (E) preparing a double-length filter segment having a length that is twice the length of the filter segment, and placing a double-length filter segment in the gap so that both ends of the double-length filter segment touch the end on the side of the cooling segment of any of the segments D, thereby obtaining segment E; (F) combining segment E by wrapping one rim paper to obtain a double-length smoking article having a length that is twice the length of the smoking article; and (G) cutting a double-length smoking article in the central part in the longitudinal direction to obtain smoking articles.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at improving the efficiency of the method for manufacturing a smoking material.
