FIELD: biotechnology and microbiology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology and microbiology. A method is proposed for identifying promising probiotic strains from natural media, including testing the antioxidant and DNA-protective properties of isolated strains of microorganisms, from which strains with antioxidant and DNA-protective activity above 40% are selected.
EFFECT: invention provides an extension of the arsenal of methods for detecting microorganisms suitable for use as probiotics.
