FIELD: gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to recycling of an acid gas mixture. A method for recycling an acid gas mixture using the Klaus process is proposed, where the acid gas mixture contains hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide. In this case, the acid gas mixture is fed to the Klaus furnace, and part of hydrogen sulfide in the acid gas mixture is oxidized using flame oxidation in the Klaus furnace. At the same time, the method includes at least the first operating mode, in which air is fed to the Klaus furnace to provide oxygen for flame oxidation, and the second operating mode, in which pure oxygen or a gas mixture with oxygen content higher than in the environmental air is fed instead of part of fed air to the Klaus furnace to provide oxygen for flame oxidation. In this case, in the first operating mode, fed air is fed in the form of air compressed by an air compressor of an air separation unit, and in the second operating mode, pure oxygen or a gas mixture with oxygen content higher than in the environmental air is fed in the form of an air separation product coming from the air separation unit.
EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of recycling an acid gas mixture, including the Klaus process implemented with oxygen enrichment.
