SUBSTANCE: inventions group relates to variants of an aerosol delivery device and an aerosol delivery device control housing. The aerosol delivery device comprises a cartridge with an aerosol precursor composition and a control housing connected or configured to be connected to the cartridge. The control housing contains a control component configured to control the delivery of components of the aerosol precursor composition upon detection of an air flow through at least a part of the cartridge or control housing, and contains a camera system with a digital camera configured to capture a video image of the scene in its field of view. The camera system or control component is configured or configured to analyze video content on the video image to detect a temporal or spatial event in the scene and transmit information indicative of the temporal or spatial event outwardly to the computing device for the computing device to perform at least one control operation based on said information. The camera system or control component is configured or configured to detect a temporal or spatial event, which is a number of people in a room with a microclimate controlled by a heating or cooling system, and the computing device is a network-connected heating or cooling system thermostat or connected to this system, and wherein the camera system or control component is or is configured to transmit information indicative of a specified number of people in a room to a network-connected thermostat to enable the heating or cooling system to be controlled based on said information by said thermostat.
