FIELD: electrochemical technologies.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrochemical technologies, namely to methods for utilizing carbon dioxide, and can be used to reduce gas emissions from industrial enterprises, protect the environment and reduce the greenhouse effect. A method for the utilization of carbon dioxide is presented, which involves the removal of hydrocarbonate ions of HCO3- and carbonate ions of CO32- from water after aeration with carbon dioxide at an excess pressure of 0.3-0.7 MPa with preliminary softening and cooling of water to a temperature of 4-7ºC. Aeration is carried out simultaneously with electrolysis and cooling of the working solution to a temperature of 4-7ºC. The gaseous products of electrolysis are removed, unutilized carbon dioxide is isolated from them. Return it for recycling. Waste water is discharged with solid and dissolved products of electrolysis. They clean it of them and return it for reuse. Water can be pre-carbonated with carbon dioxide, and then electrolysis is carried out in it. To increase the efficiency of the method in the electrolysis process, you can set the pH of the water from 9 to 11.
EFFECT: method provides an increase in the efficiency of carbon dioxide utilization.
