SUBSTANCE: inventions group relates to the woodworking industry. The log feeder includes a centering block, a log feeder, a transport block, a drive block, and a controller. The controller is configured to drive the log supply unit towards the first transmission position to supply a new log to the first and second centering spindles after the centering block has moved a distance equal to or greater than the maximum log diameter from the second receiving position further downstream in the log’s transport direction. The second version of the log feeding device includes a centering block, a log feeding block, a transport block, a driving block, a measuring block, and a controller containing a block for storing the measured temporary diameter of the log and a computing block for calculating the safe distance. The log processing device includes a log feeding device and a processing device containing the first and second cutting spindles and a log processing blade, while the processing device is located downstream of the log feeding device in the direction of transporting the log.
EFFECT: performance of the log feeder is improved.
