FIELD: artificial satellites servicing systems.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to servicing systems of artificial satellites (AS) for various purposes, located mainly in near-circular orbits with a characteristic focal parameter p ~10000 … 30000 km. The method includes launching service facilities (SF) into an elliptical intermediate orbit (EIO) with the same inclination, parameter p and in the same plane as that of the AS orbits. SF monitor the AS with a frequency that is set by the perigee radius (eccentricity) of the EIO. The supply and replacement of SF with missile defense is carried out from a low base orbit, precessing relative to missile defense, at epochs when the planes of these orbits coincide.
EFFECT: achieving operational maintenance of the AS at a low cost of the characteristic speed, with the possibility of monitoring with a high frequency of the state of the AS and forecasting situations requiring maintenance.
