FIELD: medicine; pediatric surgery.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to pediatric surgery; it can be used for the determination of a level of carrying out a corrective plate in the surgical treatment of funnel-shaped chest deformation in children older than 12 years in mini-invasive thoracoplasty. An ultrasound research of costal cartilages right and left is performed, starting from II costal cartilage to VI costal cartilage. One of three variants of hyperechoic zone length in the cartilage structure is determined. In this case, in the first variant, the length of the central hyperechoic zone is 1/3 of the costal cartilage, in the second variant, it is from 1/3 to 1/2 of the costal cartilage, in the third variant, it is more than 1/2 of the length of the costal cartilage. When the third variant of the hyperechoic structure of the costal cartilage is determined in II, III, and IV ribs, in mini-invasive thoracoplasty, the corrective plate is carried out above the point of the maximum deformation by one intercostal space. In the absence of the third variant of the hyperechoic structure above IV rib, the plate is carried out through the point of the maximum deformation.

EFFECT: method provides for complete elimination of the deformation without the formation of residual deformation zones, elimination of repeated surgical intervention due to the selection of a level of carrying out a corrective plate.
