FIELD: powder metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy and can be used for recycling waste from metalworking manufacture in the form of metal chips, primarily from chip waste of P6M5 steel. The method for producing workpieces from carbide steels for metal-cutting tools from chip waste of P6M5 steel includes crushing chips of P6M5 steel, adding powder titanium carbide, pressing the resulting charge producing chip briquettes, sintering, and annealing. Prior to crushing, the chips of P6M5 steel are cleaned, carbon black is added to the charge of crushed chips of P6M5 steel and titanium carbide powder at the rate of 0.075% carbon black to 0.1% oxygen in the initial chips, and a solution of rubber in BR-2 gasoline is added at the rate of 1.5 wt.% of rubber. The charge is cold-pressed in an open capsule at a pressure of 600 to 700 MPa resulting in chip briquettes, the briquette is sintered at a temperature of 1,150°C and subjected to isothermal annealing in a vacuum furnace, then the capsule is evacuated, welded, and hot isostatic pressing is then performed at a temperature of 1,150°C and a pressure of 200 MPa.

EFFECT: operational durability of the tool made from the proposed composition is improved; wear resistance of the tool is increased.
