FIELD: meteorology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to meteorological devices and can be used to determine the parameters of a blizzard and the type of blizzard. Essence: the optical meter of blizzard parameters contains optical systems, each of which includes a source (1-1, 1-2, 1-3) of optical radiation and a receiver (2-1, 2-2, 2-3) of optical radiation. Each of the optical radiation receivers (2-1, 2-2, 2-3) contains a photosensitive element, a signal generator, an I/O port and a data acquisition unit. Optical systems form three flat measuring areas. One measuring area has a horizontal orientation and is designed to register vertically falling particles of snow precipitation. The other two measuring areas have a vertical orientation and are designed to register particles during horizontal snow transfer. The measuring areas are spaced so that they do not intersect. In this case, the vertical areas are placed in orthogonal planes.
