FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of modified polyaryl ether ether ketone applied in advanced industries: mechanical engineering, aircraft and helicopter building, nuclear industry, in electrical engineering and electronics. Proposed is a method for producing copolyaryl ether ether ketone, consisting in interacting equimolar amounts of difluorobenzophenone and a mixture of hydroquinone and modifying bisphenol - hexafluorodiphenylolpropane in diphenylsulphone in the presence of a mixture of sodium carbonate with potassium carbonate at a four-stage temperature rise: at 180±5°C at the first stage, at 200±5°C at the second stage, at 250±5°C at the third stage, holding for 1 hour at each of the three stages, at 315±5°C at the final stage, holding for a time needed to reach the required value of the melt flow index of the finished product, followed by two-stage repeated washing with heated solvent - perchloroethylene at a temperature of 115±5°C and deionised water at a temperature of 95±5°C, and drying. The content of hexafluorodiphenylolpropane in the mixture with hydroquinone is 2.5 to 12.5 mol.%.

EFFECT: copolyaryl ether ether ketone produced by the proposed method is capable, when processed in a mould at a temperature of 180°C, of providing products with properties comparable those of products made of pure polyether ether ketone processed at a temperature of the mould of 200°C.
