FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, to devices for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Magnetic resonance tomographic scanner comprises constant magnetic field, unit for generating gradient magnetic field, radio-frequency pulse generator, receiver and an electromagnetic field intensifier from metamaterial located near the receiver. Metamaterial includes a set of extended isolated from each other mainly directed conductors, each of which is characterized by the length li, average value of which is equal to L located at distances si from each other, the average value of which is equal to S, having lateral dimensions di, the average value of which is equal to D, and the average length of conductors meets the condition 0.4λ<L<0.6λ, where λ is the wavelength of radio-frequency signal in the metamaterial, average distance between conductors is 0.001λ<S<0.1λ, average value of cross dimensions of conductors is 0.00001λ<D<0.01λ, and conductors are made of nonmagnetic material.
EFFECT: using the invention enables to minimize the level of radio-frequency electric field in the area of a patient and to increase the level of radio-frequency magnetic field.
