SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of measuring equipment, namely to detectors designed to detect objects or materials that are not allowed to be brought into a controlled access zone. A method for the inspection of footwear worn on the foot of an inspected person is proposed. The proposed method includes following operations: a thermal image of footwear worn on the foot of an inspected person is obtained (S1) by means of a thermal imager, a lower boundary of the foot of an inspected person is determined (S2) by a thermal image, a position of footwear relatively to the thermal imager is determined (S3) during obtaining a thermal image, and the distance between a lower surface of a sole and a lower surface of the foot of an inspected person is determined (S4) based on the position of footwear relatively to the thermal imager and the lower boundary of the foot. A system for the inspection of a footwear item and a detection complex containing the specified system are also proposed.
EFFECT: increase in the reliability of detection of target objects or target materials that are not allowed to be brought into a controlled access zone and that are hidden in footwear.
