SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, urology, reproduction, andrology, clinical laboratory diagnostics. In the ejaculate of a male from a married couple, prior to the in vitro fertilization procedure, the concentration of fatty acid-binding protein (FABP) is preliminarily determined, and at a FABP concentration value of 0 to 0.95 ng/ml, ejaculate infertility is predicted, that is, an unfavorable outcome of in vitro fertilization, at a value of more than 0.95 ng/ml, the ejaculate is considered fertile, predicting a favorable outcome of in vitro fertilization.
EFFECT: method allows to increase the accuracy of predicting IVF outcomes, which increases the effectiveness of the assisted reproductive technology (ART) program due to the accurate selection of men at the stage of pregnancy planning in a married couple; there is an economic efficiency of the method due to the possibility of application before the start of the IVF procedure.
