FIELD: molecular biology.
SUBSTANCE: what is described is a method for prediction of idiopathic male infertility involving DNA recovery and genotyping of a polymorphic variant rs25487 of the DNA repair system gene (XRCC1). According to the invention, the method employs a native ejaculate produced by way of mastication, and if the genotype GG or allele G of the polymorphic variant rs25487 is detected, a risk of developing idiopathic male infertility in the form of oligoasthenoteratospermia or asthenoteratozoospermia is predicted.
EFFECT: higher prediction accuracy.
