FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to endocrinology, and can be used to diagnose organic lesions of the chiasmal-sellar region in patients with central hypogonadism. The levels of total testosterone and dehydroepiandrosterone are studied. When detecting levels of total testosterone less than 0.69 nM/l and dehydroepiandrosterone less than 3 mcM/l in combination with levels of luteinizing hormone less than 1.95 IU/l and follicle-stimulating hormone less than 4.22 IU/l, organic lesions of the chiasmal-sellar region are diagnosed in patients with central hypogonadism.
EFFECT: method provides an opportunity to improve the accuracy and timeliness of the diagnosis of organic lesions of the chiasmal-sellar region in this category of patients due to the simplicity and objectivity of identifying reference markers of androgen levels with appropriate background values of gonadotropins.
